People that know me describe me as a dynamic individual with a robust track record in strategy, M&A, marketing, and sales. I have worked in global, complex, ambiguous organizational settings, generating creative strategies and action plans for innovation and change. My engaging leadership and transparent communication style resonate across diverse, multinational teams.

For over 30 years, I've successfully navigated operational and corporate challenges, leading restructuring, integration, and growth challenges across commodity, specialty, and B2B markets. These experiences span industries from surfactants to personal care, from commodity inorganic chemicals to catalysts, and from adhesives and thickeners for building, to consumer paint, illustrating my versatility and depth of knowledge.

My educational background, with a PhD in Biotechnology/Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from INSEAD, bridges technical expertise with a top tier business education. I have had the honor to work for operating companies like Shell, Corn Product Company, Gist Brocades (now DSM), AkzoNobel and Nouryon. I also worked several years for McKinsey & Co, with advisory engagements with major consultancy firms and financial institutions like banks and private equity houses.
